Terms of Service & Community Guidelines

Last updated: March 8, 2026

By using Confess.to ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Confess.to Is

Confess.to is an anonymous confession platform designed for sharing heartfelt, emotional messages -- gratitude, love, regret, apologies, and other genuine feelings. It is not a platform for threats, harassment, or illegal activity.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Confess.to only for its intended purpose: sending sincere, anonymous emotional confessions. You may NOT use Confess.to to:

3. Content Moderation

We use automated filters to block harmful content before delivery. Confessions containing slurs, threats, or links will be rejected automatically.

Recipients can report confessions that violate these guidelines. Reports are reviewed and may result in account suspension or permanent ban.

4. Reporting & Safety

If you receive a confession that makes you feel unsafe or violates these guidelines, please use the Report button on the confession. We take all reports seriously.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services. Confess.to is not a crisis intervention service.

5. Legal Obligations

Confess.to may be required to cooperate with law enforcement if confessions involve credible threats of violence, child exploitation, or other serious crimes. While we prioritize user privacy, safety comes first.

We reserve the right to preserve and disclose reported content when required by law or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person.

6. Privacy

Confess.to uses anonymous authentication. We do not require your email, phone number, or real name. Your sender identity is stored separately and is never revealed to recipients unless you choose to send a friend request.

Confessions auto-expire after 72 hours if unopened, and self-destruct after both parties have read them.

For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Account Termination

We may suspend or permanently delete accounts that repeatedly violate these guidelines. You can delete your own account and all associated data at any time from Settings.

8. Disclaimer

Confess.to is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not responsible for the content of confessions sent by users. By using this app, you acknowledge that you may receive messages that are unwanted or upsetting, and you agree to use the block and report features to manage your experience.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
